The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced social worker to join our small team of four social workers, one senior social worker, two referral coordinators and a team manager.

The Front Door responds to all contacts making swift decisions on directions that will best help our children and families whether that be children’s social care or family wellbeing/early help. This requires workers to be able to respond to quickly changing circumstances as well as able to develop good working partnerships with our colleagues in Health, Education and the Police.

As an Authority we are committed to using a Trauma Informed approach.

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.

About You

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about children, young people and their families, and who possesses the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria:

Registered as a social worker with Social Work England.
Social Work Qualification, ie Social Work Degree or Diploma in Social Work.
Achieved or commitment to study for a specialist PQ award or equivalent
Provide child-centred social work practice based upon social work value principles enshrined Social Work England’s code of practice.
