The post holder will be a senior member of the Learning disability Intensive Support Service (LDISS) working with service users throughout Gloucestershire. The purpose of this role is to: Provide specialist skills and knowledge to deliver evidence based occupational therapy assessment and treatment to service users with complex learning disabilities Work as a key member of a specialist multidisciplinary service contributing expert knowledge and outcomes of assessments to support the creation of specialist intervention plans to manage complex needs including behaviours that challenge others Provide advice, and training to support primary and secondary health care professionals, social care providers and carers to enable them to better meet the health needs of service users Optimise the service users ability to remain in the community and / or be cared for in the least restrictive environment. Facilitate appropriate discharge from hospital and respond to agencies requiring assessment of service users who are being considered for hospital admission. Implement and monitor PBS strategies or equivalent strategies. Be lead mentor for students under the remit of the profession Supervising staff at band 5 and below
