SAVS are looking to recruit a:
Voluntary Sector Navigator
37 hours per week (Mon – Fri)
Salary: £26,000 per annum

Upon completion of probation: Birthday leave & Wellbeing day
Pilot project currently funded for 12 months

SAVS supports, promotes and represents the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector in Southend. This post is provided as part of a model of partnership between the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector (VCFSE) and Southend City Council (SCC).

Purpose of this post is to provide knowledge and resources to the Connected Southend Team and support residents with up to date information, advice and direct signposting at first point of contact. To provide a quicker more informed response from the service for advice, info and signposting. Deliver a reduction of the amount of people referred through for preventative and care act interventions from secondary and tertiary social care teams.

Principal duties:
• To deal with a range of enquiries, processes and procedures by various channels from both external and internal customers contacting the adult social care contact centre
• To take direct calls or follow up on more complex advice and signposting in a call back style
• Support quicker resolution to requests for guidance and to improve people’s personal situation.
• Ensure that all individuals who pass through the service are accurately recorded, following up to ensure that they have received good support; completing monitoring as required, to demonstrate outcomes of the service.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with colleagues, management and internal departments

The successful candidate will have direct experience of working with a range of agencies, including voluntary and community groups to maintain a complex network of contacts.
