These roles will be an integral part of our Commissioning Team within the council working closely with our Service Leads, Contracting and Quality Leads, Lead Commissioning Managers and as part of integrated working arrangements with our commissioning colleagues in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care Board.
We have excellent collaborative working arrangements with staff across the broader Adults & Health and Children & Families teams and the wider Place-based Partnership.
These roles will be key in delivering our commissioning aspirations for residents of Blackburn with Darwen by:
- working collaboratively with colleagues across all departments and with care providers to ensure that services are designed and delivered in line with current and future market demand which meets statutory responsibilities as laid out in health and social care legislation.
- Contributing to the implementation of commissioning strategies for Children & Families, Learning Disability & Autism, Mental Health & Vulnerable People and Older People’s services.
- matrix working within the commissioning team including across the life-course elements (Start Well, Live Well, Age Well) and across strategic and operational functions to ensure the provision of a comprehensive service offer across the Borough
We have recently undertaken a major review of our commissioning function, and our new structure is aligned with a life-course approach and includes strategic and operational commissioning elements. We have secured significant investment to expand the commissioning function, and this is an exciting time to join our developing team. Our approach to commissioning recognises that people do not live their lives in neat boxes and therefore the way that we commission should not either. Our Start Well, Live Well and Age Well structure will maximise the opportunities for commissioning services which provide the best possible experiences for people, including for those people with complex and/ or multiple needs or those moving through different stages of their lives.
