Team Leader Residential Children's Home

Location: Grantham, NG31
Annual Salary: £26,624 to £28,080 working up to 40 hours a week PLUS an annual sleep allowance of between £2,980 and £4,960 (based on between 6 and 10 sleeps per month over 10.5 months)

Shift Patterns: 3-week rolling rota - 8am-11pm with sleep-ins (6/7 sleeps a month at £47.25 per sleep). Average hours: 37.5 hours per week.



  • Week 1: Tuesday, Friday, Sunday

  • Week 2: Wednesday, Saturday

  • Week 3: Monday, Thursday


Overtime Pay: Paid at 1.25x for anything over 30 hours and 1.5x for covering last-minute shifts on the same day.

About the Role:


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Team Leader to join our client's Residential Children's Home in Grantham. In this role, you will support the Home Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of the home while providing high-quality care to the children and young people. Your responsibilities will include supervising staff, maintaining records, and implementing care plans to foster a safe and nurturing environment.


Our cleint's newly refurbished children's homes boasts modern facilities designed to create a warm and welcoming environment for the children in care. From spacious bedrooms to well-equipped play areas, they have created a space that promotes comfort, safety, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist the Home Manager in daily operations and administrative tasks.

  • Maintain accurate records for each child and ensure compliance with care plans.

  • Supervise and mentor residential support workers.

  • Provide direct care and support to children, ensuring their physical, social, and emotional needs are met.

  • Respond to safeguarding concerns and ensure the safety of all residents.

  • Participate in training and development opportunities.

Requirements:



  • A good general standard of education; willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Children's & Young People's Workforce or Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care.

  • Previous experience in childcare or residential settings (at least one year).

  • A valid manual driving license is essential for transporting young people.

  • Commitment to working evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
