A little about myself:
I am a teenage boy who has global development delay, psychosis which is managed with medication and a chromosomal deletion which brings a variety of special needs. I enjoy history and ancestry and enjoy asking questions on anything, sometimes they can be personal. I am a funny boy who enjoys singing. I love going to charity shops and love eating, which needs to monitored.
I have dyspraxia and hypermobility and walking can sometimes be hard for me. Sometimes I need support with social norms, like asking appropriate questions. I need help looking out for danger, and need support building up my independence skills.

Driver required to take me out.

Evenings and/or weekends.

£12.75

Essential:
I need you to:
• Take me out in the community to build my independence and social skills
• Taking me out to do activities that I enjoy like going to the gym, going to charity shops

Desirable
I’d prefer if:

• You have experience working with children with complex needs
• You had some knowledge of psychosis

I’d like support with
• taking my medication when needed (training and support provided)

I will need my PA to:

Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be open minded and doesn’t take offense easily and can manage awkward social interactions positively

Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.

Concerning the position

A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
