As a Children and Young Person's Support Worker you will be expected to deliver a high standard of support across various settings; supported by a team of healthcare professionals, empower service users to maintain as much independence as possible, and ensure all daily living activities are met to the highest standard of person-centred care.


We supply Children's Support Workers to a range of clients, in settings including; residential, educational, independent living, mental health, community and specialist units.

Main duties include:

Providing Support set out in care plans to meet the child's day to day needs.
Promoting their safety and well-being protecting them from harm
Cooking, cleaning, and supporting the young person in developing their life skills
Supporting the child's engagement with Education, training and employment.
Facilitating engagement with broader support services and health appointments
Transporting young people as and when necessary
Adhering to Philomena Protocol if children go missing from home
Maintaining a daily log / incident report and completing a full handover with colleagues
Adhering to all organisational policies relating to safeguarding, Health and Safety and general data protection regulation
Promoting good relationships with neighbours and the wider community
Personal Specification – in order to be considered for this role you must fit the following criteria:

Requirements

A minimum of 6 months experience working with Children and Young People in the health and social care sector
Have an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or Children and Young Person’s Health and Social Care OR be willing to work towards this qualification
Experience working with challenging behaviour and/or complex needs
Be reliable and professional
Preferably hold a current, transferable DBS (registered on the update service)
Preferably hold a clear driving licence, with access to a vehicle

Working hours:

Monday to Sunday
12 hour day and nights
6 hour respite
