Are you an experienced clinical leader with a passion for infection prevention and control? Barts Health is looking for a dynamic and strategic individual to lead our Infection Prevention and Control efforts across all Trust sites. As the Clinical Director of Infection Prevention and Control (CDIPC), you will have a pivotal role in shaping the Trust's IPC strategy, ensuring compliance with national standards, and driving improvements in patient safety.

You will be a registered healthcare professional with extensive senior experience in IPC and a proven track record of leadership in a large, complex healthcare setting. You will have strong analytical skills and the ability to translate infection data into actionable insights that improve patient outcomes. Your strategic leadership will be crucial in aligning IPC efforts with the Trust’s wider clinical and operational goals.

You will also be a skilled communicator, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from frontline staff to national policymakers. Your experience in managing change, particularly in infection control, will be vital in driving the Trust’s transformation agenda in this critical area.

The Clinical Director of Infection Prevention and Control will provide strategic oversight of IPC, antimicrobial stewardship, and related environmental factors across Barts Health. You will lead a senior team in managing infection prevention efforts, developing policies, and ensuring compliance with the Health and Social Care Act, Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) requirements.

You will work closely with the Trust Executive Team at both Group and Hospital level reporting on key infection data and advising on risk mitigation strategies. You will also lead the Trust’s efforts to reduce healthcare-associated infections and ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
