The role

Children's Services in Tameside are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Team Manager to join us in one of our Safeguarding and Support Neighbourhood teams.

As Team Manager you will be responsible for a team providing assessment, planning, and intervention services to children in need of a statutory assessment at the threshold of Child in Need and Child Protection.

You will offer a high level of support and challenge to your social workers and inspire your teams to do their very best for Tameside children.

About you

You will have considerable experience working with children and their families in a statutory social care environment, specifically managing and supporting social workers and ASYEs, and a wealth of experience supervising cases that are in the PLO/ Court arena.

With fantastic leadership skills and attributes, you will ensure your team members are well-supported and equipped to succeed. We expect you to have extensive frontline experience as well as a solid track record of managing and developing a team. Building positive relationships is important not just with the children, young people, and families we work with but also with colleagues and external partner agencies.

1. Relevant professional qualification for the job role at Level 6 or above AND a management qualification, AND

2. Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in the role, AND

3. Maintained membership of a regulated body where this is a requirement to practice in the role where applicable, AND

4. Professional standards practised to the highest expected level.
