We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and innovative nurse to join our specialist team in Redbridge.

You will provide a nursing service to assist NELFT in fulfilling its responsibilities towards looked after children.

You will be able to work effectively across health, social care, education and the voluntary sector to achieve the best health outcomes for looked after children.

The post holder will deliver review health assessments for children and will ensure effective implementation of health care plans for individual children, ensuring all professionals working with looked after children have a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities.This will be achieved by improving the co-ordination,accessanddeliveryofhealthcareto childrenandyoungpeopleincare(0 -19yrs) both living in Redbridge and who are the responsibility of Redbridge. This role will provide a valuable contribution to the wider safeguarding health agenda.

They will require excellent communication and documentation skills.

The post holder will implement Government guidance on promoting physical, mental and emotional health of looked after children and young people through targeted health interventions including health promotion initiatives.

This role requires you to act as an advocate, leader and voice for looked after children.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.



Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).



High-Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.
