About us
My Life is a highly respected charity and we are currently seeking a Support Worker / Personal Assistant to join one of our teams in Bury. My Life was established in 2012 as a result of a group of people with disabilities and their families wanting something different to traditional types of health/social care services and wanting more choice and control over their own lives. My Life currently provides care and support to a growing number of individuals who have complex health and social care needs across the Northwest of England. Our staff are integral to the success of the charity as they are the ones making a real difference to people’s lives.

Responsibilities
We have a Support Worker / Personal Assistant role available to work supporting a young man who lives in his own home with 24/7 support; 2:1 during the day and 1:1 overnight. He has a learning disability and autism. He has a good sense of humour, he enjoys fishing, gardening and he would like to access his local community so he can meet some new friends. He will need support at home to ensure he maintains his health and house as appropriate. As part of the My Life team, you will ensure that care is provided in a way that respects the individual and promotes their independence.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will be a kind-hearted Support Worker / Personal Assistant and willing to make a positive difference to this young man’s life. You will have experience working as a Support Worker / Personal Assistant for individuals in a social care setting. You will have worked with individuals supporting them with their mental health needs, you will be self-motivated, flexible and have the ability to use your own initiative whilst being caring and sensitive to the needs of others. You will also hold a full driving licence.

This role is for days.

The salary on offer is up to £12.33 per hour (dependent upon experience) plus a competitive benefits package.
