Support Worker (Full-Time / Part-Time)

Location: Various Day/Night Shifts

Pay: £14.04 to £14.50 per hour

The role of this Personal Care Assistant:

Our personal care assistants join our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. This role is based in Brighton, working with a small team of carers who offer 24-hour care. We are looking for a number of support workers for both days and waking nights on a 2-week rota.



About the Client and Duties:

Our client is a 26yr old man with cerebral palsy. He is positive and resilient despite his complex physical and health needs. He has a great sense of humour and loves meeting up with friends and has a love of art. You will provide support in his home with personal care, moving and handling, supporting and administering his therapy and treatment, medication administration, admin/record keeping and meeting his day-to-day care and social needs.


Training and Support:

We provide comprehensive, paid training to CQC standards covering:
Full induction
Safeguarding Adults
Health & Safety / First Aid / Food Hygiene
Personal Care / Bowel Care / Catheter Care
Pressure Area Care / Administration of medication via Gastrostomy PEG
Learning Disabilities / Cerebral Palsy / MCA & DOLS
All training must be completed before the start date, with training hours paid at £14.01 per hour


Requirements:

Full, clean UK driving licence is required
At least 6 months of recent experience supporting in a care setting
Must be fully committed to being a valued member of the team, providing exceptional dedication, flexibility and care
A willingness to accompany our client on social trips and holidays if needed
Good communicator and have good writing skills
You must be comfortable working in a family home with cats
Our clients preference is to recruit non-smokers
