Position: Family Support Worker

Hours: Full time, Part time, Shift Work

Role Overview:

As a Family Support Worker, you will provide emotional, and social support to families experiencing difficulties. You will work closely with children, parents, and carers to develop connect families to relevant resources and services. The goal is to foster a stable and nurturing environment for children and to help families overcome obstacles to leading fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide one-on-one and group support to families, focusing on individual needs.

· Focusing on child development, parenting, and relationship-building.

· Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including social services, health professionals, and schools, to ensure coordinated support.

· Assist families in accessing community resources

· Offer guidance on parenting skills, child behaviour, and emotional well-being.

· Provide crisis intervention when necessary, helping families navigate difficult situations.

· Keep detailed records of interactions, progress, and outcomes for families.

Requirements:

· A minimum of 1 years UK experience working with children and families in a support role, ideally within a community or social care setting.

· Must be able to provide 3 years professional references

· Must have an enhanced adult and child DBS that is registered on the update service or be willing to process a new one with Prospero

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse families.

· Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.

· Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and professionalism.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Willingness to travel for home visits and community outreach
