We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent customer service skills to work in our busy and challenging Customer Services Department. The successful candidate will provide a high quality information and advice service to all customers, including enquiries, service requests and the administration of complaints relating to all aspects of the Council’s services .

You will be part of a dedicated Customer Service Team which offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high quality services by engaging with our residents, partners and staff. All Customer Advisors are trained to be multi skilled in all areas of service delivery regardless of customer touch point (Telephone, Live Chat, Email, Face to face etc.) providing generic transactional services and as Customer Advisor, Standards and Complaints Assistant you will also offer admin support to the Complaints and Standards Officer by utilising your additional skills and knowledge.


To be successful you will need:




  • A good standard of education through qualification (e.g. GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent)

  • To be passionate about Customer Service and have a strong customer focus.

  • To have excellent communication, listening, verbal and written skills and the ability to deal with sensitive issues, complaints, resolve conflict and compile good quality written correspondence.

  • Knowledge of the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman and Housing Ombudsman.

  • Experience of carrying out satisfaction surveys.

  • A willingness to train, develop new skills, welcoming the opportunity to be at the forefront of change and improvements.

  • To possess good ICT skills and accurate Data processing with the ability to adapt to new technologies.

  • To be able to work within a team environment and on your own.

  • To have your own transport/current full driving licence to undertake daily driving duties, although reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with a disability.
