SO2 (£36,124 - £40,476)

Temporary (1 year)
Hybrid: Stopford House and homeworking (you will be expected to be office based when on duty)

Your Role

We are looking for enthusiastic social workers who have a passion for working with adults with a learning disability. You will have already completed your ASYE. The work that is completed in learning disability is exciting and every day is never the same. You will get exposure to court work and working with adults with a dual diagnosis on top of their learning disability.

While the work can be often be demanding, complex and sometimes challenging in equal measures, it is also enabling your Social Work skills to be used to the full. Working with a diverse group of individuals, to promote their independence and advocate their decisions, views, and choices within their personal agreed outcomes. If you are looking for a social work job which provides variety, growth, and challenges then this may be the post for you.

The learning disability team works closely with the Autism and Early adulthood team so the role also provides opportunities to gain skills and experience working with the early adulthood and autism team as you will share a safeguarding and duty rota.

About You

You will need proven experience of managing high risk cases, working with partner organisations, supporting a learning culture and of working within the legislative framework of adult social care. Knowledge of applying legislation such as the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and managing a caseload. It is desirable that you will have completed your ASYE.

You will need to be a hard worker with a dedication to achieving positive outcomes for people with lived experience in Stockport.
