I am a young boy living in Swansea. I have ASD, Down Syndrome and Learning difficulties . I am a happy go lucky boy. I am very friendly. I am no trouble. I get frustrated as I struggle to communicate. I enjoy playing with my tablet and watching You tube videos. I also enjoy playing with my toys. Once I have had enough, I will stop. I can get frustrated and throw my toys, but this will mean that I need personal care. I do not like dogs as they can trigger me. I will need to avoid noisy places. Some things will depend on my mood. I am looking for a PA to get to know me and help me have some fun.

Driver required to take me out.

10 hours per week during school term (15 miles)
15 hours per week during school holidays (20 miles)

Rate of pay.
£12.75

Essential:
I need you to:

• Be able to carry out personal care
• Ensure I am safe as I do not understand danger
• Have previous experience

Desirable
I’d prefer if:

• You are patient
• You give me time to get to know you

I’d like support with
• Personal care
• Making sure I am safe
• Making sure I use my car seat and I am safe in the car
• Taking me out to soft play or the beach.

I will need my PA to:

Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.

Concerning the position

A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
