Job title: Safeguarding Manager

Location: Sheffield Springs Academy, Hurlfield Road, Sheffield, S12 2SF

Starting salary: £40,000 gross per annum

Hours of work: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 08:00 – 16:00

Sheffield Springs Academy are looking to appoint the full-time post of Safeguarding Manager. The role will primarily involve the day-to-day management, co-ordination and provision of a crucial service to teaching and pastoral staff within the Academy to enhance the safeguarding of individuals and groups of students.

Main duties include:

• Act as a Designated person for safeguarding, working within the safeguarding team and deputising for the Designated Safeguarding Lead on an ‘as required basis’.
• Liaise with teachers, support staff, parents/carers and outside agencies regarding pupil welfare and needs.
• Attend meetings with parents/carers and agencies as required, both in the academy and in external settings such as social care premises or partner primaries.
• Identify and act on disclosures as appropriate.
• Maintain pupil records/database, in particular the CPOMS system.
• Carry out safeguarding inductions to new members of staff in the Academy.
