Job title: Personal Assistant/ Support Worker

Reports to: Parents

Probationary

Period – 3 months

Holiday Entitlement – 5.6 weeks per annum

Hours
– Up to 12 hours per week (School Holidays an additional 8 hours per a week)

Hourly Rate - £12.40 weekday & £15.44 weekend

Job Purpose

To provide a safe level of care for my 23 year old daughter who has a mild learning disability, autism and can be overly friendly to others. She is limited in how she spends her leisure time as ordinarily she needs support from an adult. A support worker would promote her independence in the community and also develop her confidence in using public transport. To practice bus routes with her attend the cinema and pay and go out for meals. She enjoys being with her friends and ultimately if she gains in confidence this may enable her to access bowling, attend the cinema and zumba sessions along with her peers independently.

Main Duties:

v Develop social skills and promote independence

v Taking her on short outings in the community to help provide stimulation and gain confidence.

v Communicate well with family and provide feedback to parents.

v Maintain confidentiality at all times.

v You will be required to complete relevant training as well as an enhanced DBS check and child protection check.

In general, to undertake all care work with the sensitivity required to provide services in a way, which will preserve the dignity, choice, independence, fulfillment and rights of the child and their family.
