The Advanced Social Work Practitioner within the Barnsley Adult Social Care Initial Response Team will be responsible for the allocation of incoming work. This role involves making safeguarding decisions, allocating work, and providing both informal and formal supervision and support to ensure the smooth running of the team.
Key responsibilities:
Triage of Incoming Work: Assess and prioritise incoming referrals to adult social care, ensuring that urgent cases are identified and addressed promptly.
Safeguarding Decision Making: Make informed decisions regarding safeguarding concerns, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults.
Allocation of Work: Distribute cases and tasks among team members based on their skills and workload, ensuring an efficient and balanced distribution of work.
Supervision and Support: Provide both informal and formal supervision to team members, offering guidance, support, and feedback to enhance their professional development.
Team Management: Support the day-to-day operations of the Initial Response Team, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Qualifications:
Social Work Qualification (SW Degree, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent) and current HCPC registration
Knowledge:
Knowledge of social work practice issues.
Knowledge of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, local and national policy issues, equal opportunity, and anti-oppressive practice are vital.
Experience:
Extensive post qualification experience in a Local Authority Social Services statutory setting
Significant experience working in a multi-agency environment and liaising with a variety of agencies and partners.
Skills & Abilities:
Skilled communicator and a flexible, creative practitioner; determined to make the most of this unique opportunity.
Ability to communicate, negotiate and effectively influence a wide range of practitioners, managers and colleagues from other agencies.
