Placements & Assessment Officer Commissioning placements for Looked After Children and Quality Assurance on different type of placements
Purpose of the Role:
To commission placements and support services for Looked After Children and care leavers, ensuring that the needs of individual children and young people are closely matched within available resources and using Best Value principles and to have the lead responsibility for assessments on all IFA, Residential and Semi-Independent resources commissioned by Enfield.

Essential:
1. Knowledge of the range of complex needs of Looked After Children and an understanding of the most appropriate interventions to meet those needs
2. Excellent organisational skills including the ability to manage competing demands, respond to emergency situations and manage your workload effectively.
3. Experience in partnership working with statutory sector partners
4. Experience of market management and working with external providers
5. The main requirement of the post holder will be an expectation to travel across the country to undertake detailed assessments and monitoring visits to all Looked After Children’s resources.
6. The post holder is expected to be resilient with regards to the emotional demands the work may pose.
7. The post holder is expected to work on a flexible basis with some unsocial hours.
Desirable:
1. It is desired that the post holder should be a car driver.
2. Experience of working within a statutory children’s services/setting
3. Knowledge and experience of systems for meaningful engagement with young people in planning, delivering and reviewing services
Knowledge*
1. A knowledge of the Childrens Act 2012.
2. A knowledge of the Leaving Care Act
3. A knowledge of Children Homes Regulations 2010
4. Knowledge of Out of authority placement of looked after children – Volume 2
Knowledge of Safeguarding policies and procedures
Qualification(s)*
1. Qualification in the use of IT systems to produce data reports and trend analyses
2. Willingness to undertake a Commissioning course
