This role will support the CNO to provide robust professional and clinically relevant information and advice to the Department of Health and Social Care and the Board of NHS England, and support the CNOs work with ministers, government officials, professional regulators and royal colleges and professional bodies to shape policy and decision making. The role will involve broader integrated system-wide work but will also particularly support the CNO on professional matters linked to their portfolio areas. The DCNO will be a highly credible senior nurse leader, with extensive executive-level experience in provider and / or system leadership roles and with expertise in strategic policy development and strategic implementation, quality and productivity improvement, nursing workforce development, research, and data management.
