About the role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Manager to join our team in Bury. As the Clinical Lead for Disability Services & Integrated Equipment Services, you will provide professional leadership and management to the Disability Services Team and oversee clinical governance for the Integrated Community Equipment Store (ICES).
The Disability Services Ocupational Therapy Team in Bury provide occupational therapy assessments for children and adults with a view to prescribing specialist equipment and adaptations to support people to live as safely and as independently as possible within their own home, for as long as possible.
You will be joining a team who are highly skilled, innovative and commited to improving the lives of the Bury population.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Allied Health Professional Lead for Bury Intermediate Tier & Adult Social Care, in your Clinical Lead role you will utilise your highly developed skills and knowledge of specialist equipment, moving and handling, complex housing adaptations and the use of the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) to lead, develop and manage the Council’s Disability Services Occupational Therapy Team.
- You will provide professonal leadership and management with a focus on improving outcomes for adults and children in Bury.
- You will lead on learning and development and progression opportunities for occupational therapists and assessment officers and ensure that regular supervision, training, and development occurs.
- You will be confident and competent to prescribe specialist equipment and adaptations to support independent living.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Occupational Therapy Degree / Diploma with Professional Health and Care Professions Council registration.
- Significant experience as an Occupational Therapy Manager with strong knowledge of specialist equipment and adaptaions, moving and handling, complex housing adaptaions, and the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG).
- As the role is a community role you must hold a UK driving license and have the ability to drive and travel across the locality for work purposes.
Work Environment
The team are a community team located at Bridge Trading Estate but also work flexibly between home and the office.
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week.
