Care Officer/ Support Worker/ Health Care Assistant

Protocol Education are seeking a Care Officer to join a SEND provision in Hornchurch.

This role is supporting specialist students who have Social/ Emotional/ Mental Health needs from the ages 16+ years. Please see below hours.

These students may have come from distressed or toxic backgrounds. The right candidate will need to be confident with de-escalation strategies, tough and know how to handle challenging behaviours.

You must also be empathetic and have a good understanding or background in special educational needs or Social emotional, mental health.

Resilience and hard work are a must. An outdoors/sports/activity co-ordinator background would also be great, as this role entails a lot of outdoors activities.

Duties would include-

- Assisting in developing and implementing care plans for each child, ensuring their physical, therapeutic, emotional, and social needs are met

- Carrying out daily activities such as meals, recreational activities, and educational programs

- Ensuring the health and well-being of children, such as administering medication as needed

- Maintaining accurate records of each child's progress, behaviour, and any incidents that occur

- Working with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the child's care to ensure a comprehensive approach to their well-being

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
